Sledding
Nathan got a sled for his birthday and he loves it. We took it Heber City on New Year's Day and he got some sledding in at a park close to their house. Aaron even got a turn with Dad.
Then just this past week he was so anxious to go sledding and I couldn't traipse over to the park with Aaron in tow, so he used the sled right on our front yard. Afterwards he and Aaron did some shoveling, too. I sure do love my boys.

Fun with Cousins
Alan and Carmen were here for a week and so one of the days I took Nathan and Aaron up to Lyman to spend the day. We all sat around and played instruments and sang songs. The boys love pounding on the drums, shaking the maracas, and playing the guitar. Grandpa even go into the act by dancing. I took a video of it, but I've had trouble posting videos the last few times, so I may not get it posted.
Nathan and Dallin had a great time playing with each other. It was fun to see all the little boys getting to know each other better. Pretty soon Peyton and Aaron will be running around together, too.
On Saturday night, Alan and Carmen came and stayed with us because they had an early morning flight on Sunday. Grandpa wrestled with the boys, then Ryan, Nathan, Alan, and Dallin went to the Weber State basketball game. They all got free hats (the last pictures is Sunday morning when Ryan and Nathan were eating cereal with their hats on). Then they came home, read some bedtime stories and hit the hay! It was so fun to spend some time together as a family.

Tubing at Soldier Hollow
Alan and Carmen were here for a few days from Detroit, so on Saturday, January 10th, we all met up at Soldier Hollow in Heber to go tubing. David and Kara and their boys, Ryan and I and our boys, Alan and Carmen and their boys (are you catching the boys theme?), along with Grandma and Grandpa Hillstead had a fantastic time. It's always fun to go tubing, but especially fun when you get to ride up and ride down.
The littlest boys- Aaron and Peyton were too small to go down the big hill, but they sat in their tubes bundled up and had a great time. There was a little hill that we pulled them down.
After Nathan's first ride down he was so excited he had to tell Aaron all about it.
Nathan and Dallin and McCae could all go down the big hill by themselves. It was amazing to see these little guys flying down the hill in their tubes, jumping out and saying, "let's go again!" We linked together sometimes and all had fun. I think Ryan was the fasted down the hill every time. He just knew how to do it.

Alan and Carmen have this new, WAY COOL camera and they took a ton of great pictures. You can zoom in and see who it is coming down the hill. Alan gave me a disc of all the pictures, so there are a lot I'm going to post.
This next two pictures show Nathan and Ryan on the left and Carmen on the right coming down the hill.

When we were finished with the sledding we took a few family pictures of just the boys and all of us. I love this picture of Kadyn and Michael holding Aaron and Peyton. They are the oldest boys and are always so good to look after and hold the little ones in family pictures. They are great examples for my boys. They are also strong and capable of holding onto the little monkeys while balancing and moving on a hill of snow. They were in very good hands!
After we finished tubing, we went into the lodge and had chili, rolls, and hot chocolate. Dad's birthday was just a couple of days before so we had cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday to him. What a great party. The cousins had fun playing with each other and goofing around.

Milestones
Nathan is starting to use the big-boy potty and wear underwear. It's very exciting for the whole family. Aaron thinks it's pretty cool and we usually have a small family gathering each time Nathan needs to use the bathroom. Aaron cheers for him and loves to flush the toilet, too. We have a few "fun" experiences in public restrooms with these two, but it's probably too much information for this post.
Aaron and Nathan are continuing to play well together and love to copy whatever I do or Dad does. Nathan even made his own set of weights so he could exercise with us. They both love to color, but we have to watch out for the little guy (Aaron) eating the crayons and the chalk.
