Zoo

Grandma and Grandpa Hillstead came down and spent a couple of days with us after Easter. It was so fun to spend time with them. Grandpa took Nathan out for walks in the morning and they explored all over the park and had such a fun time. We even had a chance to go to the zoo. Nathan LOVED seeing the animals. He was so excited about them all and kept talking about it all that night and the next day. He saw the monkeys swinging and eating and thought it was all so exciting.

Easter

We had a nice Easter. Nathan was more excited about the Easter Egg hunt this year and had a fun time especially looking for the eggs on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, we didn't have our batteries charged very well for all of the festivities, so we missed some of it. Aaron enjoyed his first Easter Egg hunt from the warmth and protection of his stroller. Nathan actually participated in 4 different egg hunts - the first one was on Saturday at Ogden Regional Hospital. Then we went to Ron & Wendy's and they had egg hunt in the backyard where he actually looked for eggs and they also did a treasure hunt. Then on Sunday we had a little egg hunt in our home and Nathan's prize at the end was a big thing of sidewalk chalk. Then we went to Grandma and Grandpa Taylor's and had a nice dinner and another egg hunt out front. So, Nathan had his fill. We tried not to let him eat too much candy and he was pretty good with it all.

Grandpa Taylor's Birthday

Grandpa Taylor's birthday theme was Pirates. We had pirate hats, patches, and Grandma had some fun games for the boys to play. They even got prizes after the game. Nathan liked playing with his little paddle and ball and was pretty intense about it. I think that Nathan's favorite was throwing the bean bags into the treasure chest. Any game that involves throwing things or shooting into a basket is tops in his book!

Fun Times at Home

Nathan can now get into the fridge, pull out a yogurt, open it, and get a spoon out and eat. This is what I found one morning. He is so very proud of himself.

Doing his stretches with Mom's exercise shoes on.

Nathan is still shooting baskets and now Aaron is enjoying it more because he can sit up and clap. Nathan loves the attention and wants Aaron to look at him and clap for him every time. It's cute to watch them.

It's been a little warmer lately so we have gone on a couple of walks. Nathan likes to push his lawnmower while I push the stroller. As long as we are out, he has a great time and is very good. It's trying to get him back IN the house where we have the problems. Just last week I had to carry him and his lawnmower up our cul-de-sac. He said he wanted to push his lawnmower, so being the trusting mom that I am, I let him. He pushed the lawnmower two steps toward our house and then did a quick 180 and took off running. I started to chase him and he pushed his lawnmower away, knowing that it would keep going down the road since it is a slight incline toward our house. We eventually made it home, but it wasn't easy. I think more than once a day, "It's a good thing he's so cute...." Aaron likes it outside, too and gets excited when we start to head out for walks. Our snow is now melted, so it will be nice to get out more.

The Boys Playing Around

Nathan loves it when Aaron wakes up and wants to play with him. He still needs to be a little less rough at times, but he is doing better and he tries to get him toys and play ball with him.

This is a classic picture. Ryan is trying to talk on the phone, watch TV, and hold the two boys. I came out of our room to find this one evening. In case you can't see, Nathan has Aaron's sock in his mouth and Aaron has his finger in his own mouth. How they all came out of that happy, I'm not sure, but I sure do love my boys - big and small!

Nathan has learned how to carry his little chair around to turn lights on and off. He loves to do this and whenever he can't reach something, he is sure to find a little chair, or a big kitchen chair to take care of things.

I love Aaron's cheeks. They are sooooo kissable!

Tub Time for Aaron

Aaron likes to reach for things and is getting better at using his hands. He likes the colors in books and pretty much anything he can get his hands on.

This video is from Family Home Evening last night. We played Huckle Buckle Beanstalk where we hid something and tried to find it. Nathan was so cute looking around. "Where is it?" Aaron just watched and enjoyed Nathan.

Aaron is 6 Months old!

Aaron turned 6 months old on March 4. When we took him to the doctor he did so well with his shots. He is such a sweet-tempered little guy. He loves to chew on his toes these days and laughs a lot. Whenever Nathan talks to him and trieds to get him to smile, he loves it. He also loves it when we play "Pat-A-Cake" or sing songs to him. He is also a big little guy. He weighs 17 lbs. 8 oz. - that puts him in the 75th percentile, which compared to Nathan is huge! He's around the 45th percentile for height at still has a big head- lots of brains the doctor says :). He really is an angel. I think that every time I look at him. What a blessing to have in our home.
