Garbage Day

One of Nathan's favorite days is Tuesday because that's the day the garbage truck comes. We will watch it go all around our cul-de-sac dumping everyone's garbage into the back of the truck. When it turns the corner, he says "more" in sign language and I tell him that it will be back next week, so now we wave "bye-bye" when it goes. Last week Ryan was home before the garbage truck came, so I got a picture of Nathan and Ryan watching it on the porch. Nathan was pretty interested in everything that was going on.

"Helping" around the house

Nathan has discovered the toilet paper. We keep the bathroom doors shut so he doesn't play in the toilet or fall in the tub, but one Sunday morning when we were getting ready for church Nathan got in and discovered that the toilet paper pulls off the roll very easily. He had a great time. He got it all off and and then would find small pieces of it and bring to me. It's cute the first time, but I'm even more careful about bathroom doors now :)!





Nathan is our little helper. He loves the vacuum and now likes to sweep and mop as well. He knows the broom is in the laundry room and will sometimes go and get them and try to sweep the floor. (I wonder if it's a hint that it needs to be done?) Yesterday when I was sweeping he wanted to do part and then he went and pulled out the mop. He wants to be the one to push the broom and mop and "helps" out a lot.

Growing Up

Nathan is big enough now for a forward facing car seat. He feels like a big boy in the car and points out the window and "comments" as we drive around. He is also getting more independent every day. He loves to go outside and will go and get me his shoes and jacket and go stand by the door when he wants to go outside. Luckily, it's been so nice lately that we can go outside a lot.




Nathan is old enough now to eat and LOVE fruit snacks. As soon as I open them for him, he will take his little package and go sit cross-legged in front of the fireplace and put as many in his mouth as he can. Sometimes he tries to go slower and put in one at a time, but he usually isn't patient enough to wait until one is done before another goes in. He is willing to share with Mom and Dad, though and offers one to us while he is eating.

New Baby

Here is a picture of our latest ultrasound. The baby is 13 weeks and about 7 cm long, but you can see his/her little profile. I call it a he because it's just easier and I think it's a boy, but we won't know until our next visit in 3 weeks. His little hand is up by his face (on the right side) and his little legs are crossed (on the left side). We're pretty excited.
