Moving Around

This week Nathan has been moving around more than ever. We have to watch him as he crawls faster and faster and likes to get into plants and fake trees around the house. He's also graduated from walking with the aid of the laundry basket to walking with the aid of a toy walker, which Grandma Taylor gave to him this week. He enjoys it a lot, but has yet to figure out how to turn corners with it. He can move straight ahead but needs guidance to turn. On Monday, he turned 10 months old -- only a couple months away from the one-year mark.

New Discoveries

Nathan's top 5 discoveries this week:
5- Walking with the laundry basket. He loves to walk around while holding on to someone's hand. Well, this week, he discovered he could walk while pushing the laundry basket. It's very cute to see his little legs walking along. He thinks he's a pretty big boy!

4- Getting the food out of the container himself. He can take the lid off of lots of things and now he has figured out how to reach in and get his little veggie puffs himself.

3- His mirror-image. He has always loved mirrors, and he has now found a full-length mirror to look at. We don't know if he knows that it's him, but it's sure fun to watch him get excited.

2- Park City - He spent a day up in Park City with Grandma & Grandpa Taylor, Aunt OhMy, Uncle Brad, Aunt Brittany and Kyle - Dad had to work :(. He thought the little merry-go-round was pretty interesting and who could resist taking a picture of the cute little guy on a big rock. Doesn't he look collegiate sporting his new jacket from Aunt OhMy?



And the number one new discovery...Mom and Dad are weird. We went out to eat with some ward friends all dressed as crazy as we could. We got a lot of looks, but had a fun time.

Football Games and Family Times

We have had a fun couple of weeks. On Friday, September 29, Nathan went to his first football game-Viewmont vs. Fremont. He did really well during the game and it was good practice for the even bigger contest the next week: Lyman vs. Wright. We traveled up to Lyman on October 6 to watch Grandpa Taylor referee the Lyman High School football game and then we stayed and spent some time with Grandma and Grandpa Hillstead. So, now Nathan has seen two live football games!

We were also able to spend the conference weekend with family. On Saturday we met at Brent & Leila's and the guys went to the Priesthood Session of conference. Then the women spent time quilting and watching the little ones- more watching than quilting. Great-Grandma Johnson helped keep the kids occupied. Here she is reading to Nathan and Kyle.

On Sunday we headed up to spend a beautiful day in Lyman. We enjoyed the conference sessions and Nathan had a few "firsts" in Wyoming this time. We went to the school playground across the street to swing and go down the slides. Nathan had a first - going down the big slide. He wasn't sure about that. He had his first "haircut." It was really just a trim over his ears. I had to hold him while Grandma made a couple of little snips on each side. And he had his first taste of ice cream, which he loved.

Here are just a few more really cute pictures. Now that Nathan is more mobile, he gets himself in some pretty interesting places. He is a joy and we love him a lot! We love spending time with family and also hearing about what is going on with everyone. We hope you have a great week.
